Jannik Sinner is on course to take his fifth Grand Slam title with a second U.S. Open win. As the world’s top-ranked men’s tennis player, he trains hard and plays smart to beat major opponents such as former number one Novak Djokovic.
With the retirement of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, and Djokovic slipping in the rankings, tennis fans are turning to Sinner, 24, and Carlos Alcaraz, 22, to uphold the high level of play the previous generation of tennis stars established in the sport.

How does Jannik Sinner make his money?
Sinner earns his money mostly from tennis tournaments. As of late August 2025, his career earnings, based on his participation on tour with the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), totaled $46 million.
Sinner ranks eighth in all-time earnings, but the 24-year-old still has plenty of career ahead of him to catch up to his predecessors and older contemporaries. By comparison, Novak Djokovic is the top men’s tennis earner, with career prize money totalling $188 million.
As the number one-ranked player in men’s tennis, Sinner commands top dollar, and he also makes a significant amount of money from endorsements.
His biggest endorsement so far is a reported 10-year, $158 million deal inked in 2022 with Nike, which saw potential early in Sinner’s career. The contract covers clothing and accessories emblazoned with his name and a logo based on an abstract image of a fox’s face. The deal might seem like a bargain to Nike now since the contract was made before Sinner started winning Grand Slams in 2024.

Who is Jannik Sinner?
Jannik Sinner was born in an alpine region of northern Italy on August 16, 2001. He started skiing at 3 years old, and later began playing tennis. At one point, Sinner was a top junior skier, becoming a national champion in giant slalom at 8 and a national runner-up at 12.
At 13, Sinner opted to stick with tennis because he believed the sport wasn’t as demanding as skiing, which required performing at near perfection to win. With tennis, he could lose a point here and there, but could recover those points in a match to win.
